The wondeful disposal of mice

The presence of mice is one of the huge downsides of living in NYC. I found this rodent station located right outside our house, which in all honesty doesn’t feel that assuring. The other day we discovered a little mouse friend in our apartment. Ever since, I can’t relax when I’m home alone. I do things like make loud noises whenever I approach the kitchen, or hysterically spray cleaning products around me whenever I think I hear something. Why can’t these little creatures leave me alone and find a home of their own? What I’m really wondering though, is the garbage can below the sign filled with rats and mice? If you catch and kill one, is that where you’re supposed to drop it off? If that’s the case, I pity the garbage man who has to empty that bin.

Green-Wood Cemetery

“It is the ambition of the New Yorker to live upon the Fifth Avenue, to take his airings in the Park, and to sleep with his fathers in Green-Wood” – Paul Goldberger.

I could really use a wish right now

Sugar Sweet Sunshine

Our new place in the Lower East Side is situated dangerously close to a little bakery that sells wonderfully delicious cupcakes. I am a big cupcake fan and to make matters worse, they’ve also given me ten perfectly logic reasons on why to consume one. Today I tried the Pumpkin Spice cupcake and it was deeelicious! I love our new neighborhood.

Bye Bye Home

The apartment is looking emptier every day. In a week or so we will be out of here and moving in to our new temporary pad in the Lower East Side. We had some good times here, but I am longing for a change of neighborhood. Bye Bye Kips Bay!

An alternative Valentine’s Day gift?

Iceland

I’ve just returned back to NYC and it’s a huge contrast from where I spent the last couple of days, in Reykjavik, Iceland.
